The 3 Rowan 116C rigs of Rowan Companies, Inc. have been dry transported. The transport has been performed by the Black Marlin around January 10th 2006. The 3 Rowan 116C rigs were loaded in Pascagoula, USA using the float-on method. Loading 3 Jack-up Rigs onto Black Marlin, means that every inch of available deck space had to be used.
After the voyage, via Cape of Good Hope, the rigs were discharged using the float-off method in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia. The Arch Rowan and Charles Rowan were placed on board transversely with the bow facing starboard and portside respectively. The Rowan Middletown was stowed at a 30 degree angle from the vessel’s centerline with its bow facing aft.
