Weblog January 2010

Steady Ahead

As we enter this new decade, I would like to take a look at where we have come from and where we are going. Year after year, Dockwise executes hundreds of projects. This was accelerated in 2009 with the finalization and the delivery of six T-Class vessels and the re-emergence of the new Mighty Servant 3. With these additions, our 20 vessel fleet provides a solid base to sail steadily into the future.

In addition to our core, heavy-lift operations, our strategy to deliver complete Transport and Installation services is moving forward. In August, we preformed the entire extended scope of the successful transport and installation of the CPOC platform in the offshore eastern coast of Malaysia and Thailand. Using our Black Marlin to perform the technical integration, our team of experts cooperated with the deck fabricator and the client to manage the safest installation possible. The loading of the platform in Singapore was so impressive it was actually broadcasted on the Discovery Channel’s X Machines episode in the UK last month. With this kind of publicity, Dockwise will start to inspire young minds around the world to consider careers in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture.

In addition to exceptional project, Dockwise is proudly looking forward to the next decade from the new, financial home-base in the Netherlands. Control of the holding was moved from Bermuda to Breda, the Netherlands, paving the way for a secondary listing in Amsterdam. New cornerstone investors HAL Investments, Project Holland Fonds and Sankaty Advisors acquired the shares of 3i and brought fresh capital, allowing us to strengthen the balance sheet. A period of complex financial engineering was concluded on December 3, when Dockwise stock started trading at the NYSE Euronext in Amsterdam.

Whether working in China, the US, Italy, France, Korea, Brazil, Singapore, Australia, Russia or the Netherlands, Dockwise is strengthened by the prominent team of experts proving again that we are able to solve the most inconceivable challenges.

Looking into 2010 Dockwise will continue to maintain the leadership position in the traditional, heavy, marine transport market and to achieve leadership in the new markets like Float-over Transport & Installation and Logistical Management.

The decade will begin with the execution of the Military Sealift Command project using the renowned Mighty Servant 3. 2010 will also mark the full transport, integration and installation of the Vyborg project, another first when it comes to installation of a large heavy deck with a vessel on a floating base structure. As Dockwise navigates towards full Logistical Management, this year will bring exciting changes to our organization as we grow to solve bigger and even heavier marine challenges.

Sincerely,

André Goedée
